We’re saying, “See Ya” to Plastic!

 In Blog

Here at Casting for Recovery, we’re constantly brainstorming and identifying ways to make our 2.5 day retreat programs better, stronger and healthier.

It’s undeniable, plastic pollution is becoming a worldwide epidemic. Researchers predict that by 2025 there will be 250 million tons of plastic in the ocean and the ratio of plastic to fish will be one to three.  Scientists predict that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. While we can’t go back to a world that is free from plastic and the pollution it has already caused, we can stifle this global issue from expanding by breaking the habit of using plastic.

Casting for Recovery is proud to join forces with the folks from Costa Sunglasses, Klean KanteenYETIMiir, and many others (hopefully you!), by supporting the kick-plastic movement in helping to reduce the amount of plastic water bottles used at CfR retreats and events (60 retreats in 2018 serving almost 800 women).

The Costa website gets right down to the facts: “Americans may be recycling more than ever before, but we’re also making more trash than ever before. So even though we’re getting better, our oceans continue to get worse—strangled by plastic bottles, bags and other trash. As fishermen, we’re in a unique position to do something about it. The oceans are our backyard, our playground, and you can bet we’ll be there to keep an eye on them.”

Please join us and the millions of others by saying NO to plastic, one disposable water bottle at a time.
