What you'll experience

Casting for Recovery offers no-cost, oncology-informed fly fishing retreats for women with breast cancer at every stage of the journey. These retreats are designed to meet women where they are, creating space for connection, restoration, laughter, and moments of calm in the healing power of nature.

Each retreat includes expert medical and psychosocial support, professional fly fishing instruction, nourishing meals, lodging, and the opportunity to spend time alongside women who understand the experience of breast cancer in a deeply personal way.

No fly fishing experience is needed. You simply come as you are.

Why Fly fishing?

Why fly fishing? The casting motion used in fly fishing was recognized as a gentle form of physical therapy for women recovering from breast cancer surgery and treatment. The movement can help improve range of motion, strength, and flexibility in the upper body, while time spent outside in nature offers emotional restoration and stress relief. Combined with connection, support, and learning a new skill, fly fishing provides a powerful pathway for healing both physically and emotionally.
