Jane: Honoring One, Healing Many
-
The Jane Project is more than a boat—it’s a movement. Built in partnership with our sponsors and powered by a community of supporters, Jane was created to honor women and their stories, to carry tributes of love and remembrance, and to symbolize resilience on the water. As she travels, Jane will spark reflection, connection, and healing—becoming a visible reminder of the strength of women and the power of rivers to restore.

How it started - the legacy of original boat, Judy
A group of friends, each touched by breast cancer through their mothers, came together with a shared vision: to create something lasting that reflected their mothers’ love of the outdoors and joyful spirit on the water. They knew just where to channel that love. What began as a collective tribute became so much more—a pink drift boat that grew into a symbol of healing, resilience, and community. That boat has since inspired, raised funds, and brought women together across rivers nationwide.

Design with Heart: Artist Blakeley Dunn
The Jane was brought to life not just through engineering and craftsmanship—but through art.
The boat’s one-of-a-kind design was created by Blakeley Dunn, an artist known for her nature-inspired illustration that celebrates rivers, resilience, and connection. Blakeley’s thoughtful design weaves together the spirit of Judy, the strength of the women we serve, and the beauty of the water that carries them.
The mission of Casting for Recovery (CfR) is to empower women in treatment or recovery from breast cancer, through oncology-informed retreats that connect women to each other and nature using the therapeutic sport of fly fishing—all at no cost to the participants.
