Honoring Veterans Today (and Everyday!)
We’re honoring veterans today (and everyday!) at Casting for Recovery. Did you know that in the Spring of 2017, Casting for Recovery joined forces with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) to host an inaugural retreat exclusively for female disabled veterans and active duty military women who have experienced breast cancer? The weekend served women representing the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines at Harman’s Log Cabins in West Virginia to support one another and experience the healing aspects of fly fishing.
This new partnership provides an outstanding opportunity for female PHWFF participants in the cancer recovery process to continue their journey of healing and recovery, while becoming involved with another like-minded community and organization. This retreat program is the first of its kind in the country, and Casting for Recovery and PHWFF hope to expand retreat offerings for more military women in the future.
