Gina’s personal health battles have fueled her dedication to supporting others. Her journey through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery has shaped her commitment to giving back, and the Pistorio family’s love for fly fishing has fostered a meaningful connection with Casting for Recovery.
Through this collaboration, Madison Rose has supported retreats that offer women affected by breast cancer a chance to connect, heal, and find solace in the outdoors.
Having faced breast cancer myself, watched my sister fight her own battle, and knowing so many women on this journey, I’ve found fly fishing to be an incredible escape. Being in nature—the rushing water and feeling the calm around me—is truly therapeutic. When I fish with my family and friends, my mind is clear, and I can focus on the beauty of the moment.
I believe Casting for Recovery provides this same sense of peace and connection for women facing breast cancer. It’s a safe space where they can be themselves, share their experiences, and find support among those who truly understand. I’m passionate about bringing women together, and when that happens through nature and the sport of fly fishing, it’s even more meaningful. – Gina Pistorio
