CfR Announces New Chief Executive Officer Faye Nelson joins the Casting for Recovery team

Bozeman, MT—December 16, 2019

Casting for Recovery (CfR), a national nonprofit organization providing fly fishing retreats for women with breast cancer at no cost, is proud to announce that Faye Nelson will be the new Chief Executive Officer. Faye brings over 25 years of non-profit leadership, fundraising, and strategic management and will join the CfR team starting on January 1, 2020.

Faye is a 4th generation Montanan whose career has been influenced by her love of the outdoors and the restorative power of nature. Her skillset and passions are an excellent match for CfR. A seasoned manager, Faye has worked in higher education, conservation, and a social services organization supporting Native American communities. Most importantly, for the past six years, Faye has worked with Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation (WQW), starting as the Development Director before being promoted to Executive Director over four years ago. In her position at WQW, Faye and her team served post-9/11 combat veterans and their families through the experience of fly fishing. She has witnessed the healing power of nature and fly fishing first hand, as well as the critical role of a volunteer network.

A mission-driven individual, Faye is excited to leverage her background and experience to broaden the sphere of influence and reach of CfR and, most importantly, position the organization to serve more women. She is eager to be a part of the empowerment and renewal that women directly affected by breast cancer receive from CfR.

Faye and her husband and children live in Bozeman, MT. She holds a B.A. in Communication Theory and English Literature from the University of Puget Sound and a Non-Profit Administration and Fundraising Certificate from the University of Washington. As she prepares to assume the CEO role in early January, Faye will work with Whitney Milhoan, CfR’s current Executive Director, to ensure a smooth transition and immerse herself in all things CfR.
