Located in the picturesque Heber Valley and minutes away from the Middle Provo River, the Homestead Resort is a wonderful location for the CFR Utah program. The local volunteer team is excited and honored to bring the Casting for Recovery (CFR) program to breast cancer survivors in Utah.

Fish Tales & Ales will be held on at Uinta Brewing in Salt Lake City and will feature a Silent Auction, and a Raffle to benefit Casting for Recovery-Utah.
Casting for Recovery-Utah held its inaugural retreat on September 2-4, 2011 at the beautiful Homestead Lodge in Midway, Utah. Fourteen amazing and inspiring women, ranging in age from 34 to 59, joined the volunteer staff for a weekend of fly-fishing, sharing, and support. The women were immersed in the wonderful world of fly fishing during the weekend and in just a short peri
od of time, new and lasting friendships were made.
Our weekend culminated with a clear and sunny day of fishing on the Middle Provo River. Each participant fished one-on-one with her own guide. Many fish were caught and released during our excursion, and even the smallest of fish brought a smile and a squeal of excitement and happiness. A BIG thank you to the river helpers for sharing their time and love of fly fishing with these women. You've created some wonderful memories!
We were honored to provide this retreat to these women. They remain and always will be our shining lights and heroes.

CFR-Utah was represented at the March 2011 International Sportsmen’s Expo (ISE) in Sandy, Utah. Their booth at the 4-day event helped raise awareness and conducted outreach for their new program. During the ISE show, KUTV Channel 2 News profiled CFR on his “Roughin' It Outdoors” program.
