CFR Tennessee-Middle/West

The CFR- Middle/West Tennessee Program is gearing up for our sixth Retreat to be held in Normandy, Tennessee, in 2014. Each year we serve 14 women in Middle and West Tennessee, whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Each year a group of wonderful volunteers and river helpers staff each retreat, sharing their passion for fly-fishing, helping each woman to forget about her illness and giving her hope for the future . . . “to fish is to hope.”

In 2014 our retreat will be held at Parish Patch Farm & Inn in Normandy, TN, the date is May 2-4. Please apply by March 9.

The morning mist hovers in the valley. Huge hay stacks cast long shadows across the quiet meadows. You can almost see the garrison of gray-coated Confederates going in and out of their tents that once stretched along the banks of the Duck River running through the farm. Standing outside the Inn, filled with a breakfast worthy of a general and a cup of hot coffee, you have a panoramic view of wooded hills splashed with color and myriad shades of green, the silos, the fences, the Beefalo cattle moving from the rustic barn to the quiet fields that surround the Inn--it is a time, a moment you have dreamed about.

The Middle/West Tennessee program is supported by our local fly-shops and fly-fishing organizations, local businesses, health care corporations, Susan G. Komen of Greater Nashville, and other non-profits. Thanks to their generous donations, we are able to provide our annual wellness weekend to breast cancer survivors throughout Middle Tennessee at no cost to participants.
